The Great Cricut Catastrophe: A Story of Betrayal and Survival

It started out like any other crafting session—hopeful, inspired, full of possibility. The paper was chosen, the mat was prepped, the Cricut stood ready to perform its mechanical magic.

And then?

Absolute chaos.

The betrayal did not come from a reckless blade, nor from a rogue glue spill.

No, this was an ambush orchestrated by the mat itself.

The paper, once perfectly positioned, refused to let go. It clung as though its very existence depended on it. I peeled. I coaxed. I 'negotiated with unseen forces' but it would not budge.

And then the paper cut A sneaky, slow-burning wound, delivered not by a fresh-cut edge but by the stubborn, unyielding portion of paper that had refused to cooperate.

But the disaster was not yet complete.

In the ensuing struggle, the paper tore, not in that satisfying way that screams "artistic distress," but in the cruel, jagged way that renders a project unsalvageable. The mat, now resembling the aftermath of a battlefield, required military-grade cleaning intervention.

And the project?

Ruined.

There was nothing left to do but start again

wounded, betrayed, but ultimately undefeated.

❌ Never trust a Cricut mat that is too sticky.

❌ Always approach uncut paper edges with caution.

❌ Prepare emergency supplies—not just for crafting, but for personal medical intervention.

I bear the scars of this tragedy. But I craft on.
